Challenges I Help With
Life can be overwhelming. Here are some of the challenges I specialize in supporting clients through.
Anxiety
Anxiety can show up as constant worry, racing thoughts, physical tension, or a sense of dread that something bad is about to happen. It can make it hard to focus, sleep, or feel at ease in your own body.
Common experiences include:
Persistent worry that feels uncontrollable
Physical symptoms like rapid heartbeat, sweating, or muscle tension
Avoidance of situations that trigger anxiety
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Fear of judgment or failure
In therapy, we'll work together to understand the root of your anxiety, identify your triggers, and develop practical tools to manage anxious thoughts and feelings. You'll learn how to break the cycle of worry and reclaim a sense of calm.
Burnout
Burnout is more than just feeling tired—it's emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion that comes from prolonged stress. It can leave you feeling depleted, cynical, and disconnected from things that used to matter to you.
Signs of burnout include:
Chronic fatigue and lack of energy
Feeling emotionally numb or detached
Decreased motivation and productivity
Irritability or frustration with yourself or others
Neglecting self-care or personal needs
Recovery from burnout takes time, and that's okay. In therapy, we'll focus on processing what led to your burnout, rebuilding your energy, and creating sustainable habits that protect your well-being. You don't have to push through this alone.
Depressive Symptoms
Depression can feel like a heavy weight that makes everything harder. It might show up as persistent sadness, loss of interest in things you once enjoyed, or a sense of hopelessness about the future.
Common symptoms include:
Persistent sadness or emptiness
Loss of interest in activities or relationships
Changes in sleep or appetite
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
Withdrawal from social connections
Therapy offers a space to explore what's beneath the surface of your depression. We'll work together to understand contributing factors, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop coping strategies that help you reconnect with yourself and the world around you.
Occupational Stress and Trauma
Occupational stress refers to the physical and emotional strain resulting from job-related pressures.
Common causes include:
Heavy workload
Long working hours
Lack of control or autonomy
Interpersonal conflicts at work
Occupational trauma arises from exposure to distressing or traumatic events in the workplace.
Examples include:
Workplace bullying
Toxic or abusive work environments
Exposure to traumatic experiences or images
I help people heal from occupational stress and trauma by identifying and understanding inner "parts" (like the inner critic or overachiever) that react to work pressures. It supports unburdening wounded or overwhelmed parts and restores balance by connecting with the calm, compassionate core Self. This process fosters self-awareness, emotional resilience, and healthier responses to workplace challenges
My integrated approach: I don't believe in rigid, one-size-fits-all therapy. Depending on your needs, we might use CBT to manage immediate symptoms, IFS to explore internal conflicts, and psychodynamic work to understand deeper patterns. Therapy is flexible, and it evolves with you.
